Course TasksMore InformationThe Tasks tool lets you create to-do lists for your courses and organizations. In addition, you can use it to keep track of personal tasks. You can access the Course Tasks tool within a specific course and see all your tasks for that course. You can also access the Personal Tasks tool from the My Institution area to view all your tasks.
Adding a TaskFrom the My Institution area:
- Click on the Tasks in the Tools section.
- Click on the Add Task button.
- Type the title of the task’s name in the Task Title field.
- Type a description of the task in the Description field.
- Choose a date from the Due Date drop-down menus.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the Submit button.
Task Options:
Sorting a Task
- Priority – Use this option to set the task’s priority. You can arrange your tasks by priority to make them easier to find. The options are Low, Normal, and High.
- Status – Use this option to set the task’s status. The options are Not Started, In Progress, and Completed.
From the My Institution area:
- Click on the Tasks link in the Tools section.
- Click on a Sort link (PRIORITY, SUBJECT, STATUS, DUE DATE).
Sorting Options:
Filtering Tasks
- PRIORITY – Use this option to sort your tasks from High Priority to Low Priority to Normal Priority.
- SUBJECT – Use this option to sort your tasks in alphabetical order by subject name.
- STATUS – Use this option to sort your tasks from “Completed” to “In Progress” to “Not Started.”
- DUE DATE – Use this option to sort your tasks from earliest to latest due date.
From the My Institution area:
- Click on the Tasks link in the Tools section.
- Choose a Task filter by from the drop-down menu.
Filter Options:
- All Tasks – Use this option to displays all tasks.
- My Tasks – Use this option to display personal tasks.
- All Course Tasks – Use this option to display tasks associated with this course.
- Tasks for a Specific Course – Use this option to display tasks for a specific course.
- All Organization Tasks – Use this option to display tasks associated with organizations.
- Tasks for a Specific Organization – Use this option to display tasks for a specific organization.
Q: Can my instructor see whether I have marked a course task as NOT STARTED, IN PROGRESS or COMPLETED?
A: Yes, but only if your instructor created the task. Only you can see the status of tasks that you create yourself.Q: Can my instructor view my personal tasks?
A: No, only you can view the personal tasks. Instructors can only view course tasks that they have created themselves.
