Date Issue Status 5/2/05
Blackboard performance Slow, then Down (performance)
- 8:30am slow, down 8:45 - 9:06am
Server slowed down and was unresponsive. May be a Oracle issue with Bb due to the Sunday maintenance and restarting of both servers.
- Currently researching Sunday maintenance process and restart sequence.
4/25/05
Blackboard Down
(performance)
- 10:00am to 10:28am
Server went down. OPS cold booted Blackboard.
- Reviewing session numbers on Delphi.
4/21/05
Blackboard Down
(performance)
- 12:45pm to 1:10pm
Server was down and needed a reboot. It didn't go down (crash), which was good, but still unusable.
- Reviewing logs about Apache quitting.
4/19/05
Blackboard Down
- 12:10pm
OPS accidentally turned prbbap01 off. It was down for 15min.
- OPS was scheduled to shut down the Bb test server, but accidentally shut down the production box. Once notified the server was online right away.
4/18/05
Blackboard performance slow, then server down.
(performance)
- 9:30 to 10:15am - server very slow...10:15 to 11:15am server down
Server was hard booted to bring it back up.
- It seems to be a Java Memory thing and a Java Garbage Collection log was added that night for troubleshooting.
- Bb Support will only allow the Blackboard server to be slow or down for 10min, before it is restarted or hard booted.
4/10/05 Blackboard Down.
- 5pm
Server was hard booted by OPS.
- No idea why. Rich Uc sent email. David is looking into this.
4/8/05 Blackboard was down for all users.
- 10:10am
Bb down due to too many directories caused by auto logout turned off.
- This was resolved and shouldn't happen again once David has the time to create a script to manually move courses to another directory.
4/7/05 Blackboard slowed greatly.
- 9:55 and 10:35 am
This is not a known issue. Server recovered on its own.
- Working with Bb to determine root cause. May be due to auto logout turned off and additional directories.
