Course Name and Description

The Course Name and Description tool lets you set the name and description of your course and classify it under subject and discipline areas.

Setting the Course Name and Description

From the Control Panel:

  1. Click on the Settings link in the Course Options section.
  2. Click on the Course Name and Description link.
  3. Type the course’s information in the appropriate Course/Title Description text fields.
  4. Choose a subject area from the Subject Area drop-down menu.
  5. Chose a discipline from the Discipline drop-down menu.
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the Submit button.

Q: What does the subject and discipline classifications do?
A: These classifications correspond to the Academic Course Resources section of Blackboard. They determine what resources your course will have access to.
