Import Package Tool

The Import Package tool lets you upload information from an exported Blackboard course to a current course. Once a course is exported, you can import the whole course or selected parts of the course into another course site.
Note: If the course settings are imported, they will overwrite the current settings of the destination course. If you choose other areas to import, they will be added to the destination course, and the existing materials will remain.

Importing a Package

From the Control Panel:

  1. Click on the Import Package link in the Course Options section.
  2. Click on the Browse button to find the package you want to import.
  3. Click on the check boxes next to the areas you want to import.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the Submit button.

Q: When would I want to import a course?
A: If you have exported a version of your course for storage, you will need to use this feature to reload your course to Blackboard. You can also share parts of your course with other instructors by importing specific areas to their course.
