Export CourseMore InformationThe Export Course tool lets you save your course content in .zip format. The Blackboard Administrator can later reload the compressed, exported course into Blackboard. You can also save older versions of course sites for future reference, for storage purposes, or to share with other instructors at your or another university.
Exporting a Course
Note: This is not a full backup of the student participation. If you want the students participation, you will need to archive the course.From the Control Panel:
- Click on the Export Course link in the Course Options section.
- Click on the check boxes next to the sections you want to export.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the Submit button.
- Click on the Click here to download the exported Course package link to download the file.
Q: Can I open the exported course and look at the documents?
A: No, you can only view the exported course by reloading it into Blackboard.
Q: Are student records included in the export?
A: No, Blackboard only includes the sections listed on the Export page.
Q: One of my options is to save the Groups. If Blackboard does not keep student records, what does it keep in the Groups section?
A: Blackboard keeps the names and settings for each group, along with any discussion forums that have been set up for those groups.
Q: What is the difference between the Export Course tool and the Archive Course tool?
A: The Export Course tool allows you to select specific content to export. The Archive Course tool archives the whole course, including the student data.
