Course Copy

The Course Copy tool lets you copy selected course materials from one Blackboard course to another. You can use documents you created for a summer version of a course in your fall course, without having to upload all the files again. You can also combine materials from two or more separate courses into one so you do not have to upload the files more than once.

Note:

You will receive an email notifying you that the files were successfully copied although the files may not be in the course yet. It can take 30 min to 1 hour for all files to copy even thought Blackboard sends the email sooner than 30 minutes. If an hour has passed and your files do not display, please notify the Service Desk (servicedesk@calpoly.edu) or (756-7000).

Do not copy the files again. You will have duplicates of every file and will need to manually remove them.

After the copy has completed you may notice duplicate menu links. For example if you copied the syllabus, the original syllabus link at the top will be empty, but the item you copied will be on the bottom of the menu. You may need to Refresh the menu window before you see the new links. For more information on how to update the menu links, please review the Manage Course Menu tutorial.

Note: This Course Copy tool doesn't function like the old Instructor Course Copy tool, which was located in the My Blackboard tab area. Course settings and the banner will not copy over with Bb 6.1's Course Copy tool. You will need to reload the banner into the new course and modify the course settings through the Control Panel.
