Add LRN PackageThe Add LRN Package tool lets you add Microsoft LRN content to any of the content areas. You can create LRN content by using the Microsoft LRN Toolkit. For more information on this feature, go to the Microsoft eLearn website.
Adding an LRN PackageFrom the Control Panel:
- Click on the Content Area link where you want this LRN package added (Syllabus, Course Materials, Assignments, External Links).
- Choose LRN Package from the
Add Other drop-down menu on the right of the screen.
- Click on the
Go button.
- Choose a name from the Name drop-down menu or enter the name of the LRN Package in the Name field.
- Enter a description into the Text field.
- Click on the Browse button in the LRN Package Attachments section to find the package to upload.
- Type the name of the link into the Name of Link to File field.
Note: If you leave it blank, the filename of the attached file will be the link your students click on to view the package.- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the Submit button.
Options:
- Do you want to make the LRN Package visible? – Enable this option to give your students access to your LRN Package.
Do you want to add offline content? – Enable this option if you have a companion CD-ROM that accompanies your LRN Package.- Do you want to open item in new window? – Enable this option to have your LRN Package open in a new window when your students click on it.
- Do you want to track number of views? – Enable this option to track how many times individual users access your LRN Package.
- Do you want to add metadata? – Enable this option to add metadata. Metadata is data about the LRN Package, such as ownership, resource format, and copyright information.
- Choose date restrictions – Enable both the Display After and Display Until options if you want to control when your assignment is visible. This option automates the “make the LRN Package visible” option.
