Video Tutorials

To support faculty needs, we have provided video tutorials for multiple Blackboard tools. We are currently developing the video tutorials so you may not be able to find the video tutorial you are looking for at this time. Please keep visiting the Blackboard Support site to see the developed files that will be added in the future.

Add Folders	Use folders to organize your files and to easily copy full folders to other courses.
Add Item: Part I Add Item: Part II	Type text or upload a file (such as: .ppt, .pdf, .doc, .mov, .jpg...) within the course. Type text or upload a file (such as: .ppt, .pdf, .doc, .mov, .jpg...) within the course.
Add Mac PowerPoint (HTML): Part I Add Mac PowerPoint (HTML): Part II	Save a Mac PowerPoint as HTML and upload into your Bb course.
Add PC PowerPoint (HTML): Part I Add PC PowerPoint (HTML): Part II	Save a PC PowerPoint as HTML and upload into your Bb course.
Announcements	Provide time sensitive important information to your students in a central location.
Archive Course	A complete copy of your course can be saved as a .zip file.
Assessment: Add Test	There are multiple sets of tools used in Blackboard to create a reusable time saving test for your students. Here are the tips and tricks to creating a test in Blackboard.
Assessment: Add Survey	There are multiple sets of tools used in Blackboard to create a reusable time saving survey for your students. Here are the tips and tricks to creating a survey in Blackboard.
Assessment: Creating a text (txt) file	The Bb's Pool , Survey , and Test Manager's forms can take many hours to fill out. If you already have the test/survey questions, this process will help you upload them into the Bb assessment tools quicker.
Assessment: Uploading TXT	Allows you to upload a TXT file (view instructions above for format) into the assessment tools (Pool , Survey, and Test Manager) to save time filling out the web forms.
Assignment Tool	Allows the instructor to provide a file to the students, download all student files at once, grade, give feedback and return files to students.
Assignment: Electronic Paper Grading (MAC) Assignment: Electronic Paper Grading (PC)	Students can submit DOC files into the Assignment tool. Using Microsoft Word's track changes, comments, and macros will help you to electronically grade your papers. The graded papers can be returned to the students via the Assignment tool.
Calendar	Add tests and assignment dates into the course calendar.
Collaboration Suite Manager	The Collaboration Suite Manager allows you to Search, Archive, and Create Sessions for the Virtual Classroom and Lightweight Chat areas.
Copy Folder / Items	Copy a Folder or Item to another course, or move them within the same course
Course Availability	Turn the course on so the students can access it
Course Copy	Copy full course content from a past quarter to a current quarter
Course Entry Point	Select the page that opens first in your course
Course Menu	Change the navigational menu (left window of course) to fit your course needs
Digital Dropbox	Allows you to add files, send files and download to your desktop.
Discussion Board	Allows users to communicate in a threaded discussion asynchronously.
Email	Send an email to the users of your Course. All or choose individual users.
Email Forwarding	Allows you to have your Cal Poly email go to another account.
Enroll User & List /Modify User	Add users to your Bb course and modify their role in the course to TA, Grader, Course Builder, Instructor, or Student .
Export Course	A copy of the course materials can be saved as a .zip file.
Glossary Manager	Allows you to list a glossary for this course.
Gradebook Introduction / Options	Provides an introduction to the Gradebook and shows best practices with 3 options of how to set-up the Gradebook to support student and instructor needs.
Grade Center I Grade Center II Grade Center III	Full tutorial of all the tools available within the Grade Center.
Groups	Managing Groups (creating the groups, adding the students, setting up the tools)
HTML Editor	A PC computer and Internet Explorer browser has the HTML editor built into the page. This will help you learn how to use the HTML Editors tools.
Lightweight Chat	Allows you to synchronously communicate with your students (similar to instant messaging tools)
Logout	Logout of Blackboard to prevent others users from accessing your courses.
Photoshop Image Optimization	Optimize images for the web with Photoshop
Print Blackboard Web Page	These simple instructions will help you print a Blackboard page.
Virtual Classroom I Virtual Classroom II	The Virtual Classroom allows you to chat with your class with additional tools such as; whiteboard, private Q&A, Group Browser and Course Map.
Wytheville Community College: Bb Quiz Generator	This tool will help you to create Bb question Pools outside of Bb's forms. This site is not affiliated with Cal Poly. We are unable to modify or support users questions or issues with this tool.
Zipping Multiple Files (folder)	If you want to upload multiple files at once into Blackboard, you will need to ZIP the folder of files before it can be uploaded.
