TO: Faculty Using Blackboard Learning Management System FROM: Information Technology Services (ITS) RE: Problem using the Blackboard 'Course Copy'ā tool? I NEED TO COPY COURSE FILES FROM AN OLD COURSE TO A NEW COURSE. Issue: When content from one course is copied to another with the Course Copy tool, duplicate navigational links appear, but can only be seen by the instructor after clicking on the Refresh button (located at the bottom of the navigation links). Resolution: Blackboard has made a change in the use of the Course Copy tool, which erroneously adds additional navigation links. Cal Poly has made a request to Blackboard to address the problem. In the interim, please visit the Blackboard Support site: for information on how to use the current Course Copy tool. Please note the "View Video Tutorial" button on the page or go directly to: , which shows you how to perform these tasks, including steps to clean up the extra menu items. I HAVE ALREADY COPIED MULTIPLE TIMES If you have already copied your course more than once (thinking it didnāt work) you will need to clean up the extra files. The quickest method is to remove the extra items (Course Material, Syllabus, etc.) within the Manage Course Menu tool. Just Remove (click on the Remove button on the right of the item) all the extra items (faster than deleting the files individually), and use the Course Copy tool again (once) to copy the files. Please refer to the above URLs for the tutorials. _____________________________________________________________________ If you still need assistance after watching the video, please call or email the Service Desk (756-7000 or ) or create a Remedy HelpDesk Request at for Blackboard assistance.
