This week, we have taken several key steps with the Blackboard vendor to identify and to address the root causes of the performance delays currently being experienced by faculty and staff. This message is to update you on the current status. WHAT IS BEING DONE TO IMPROVE BLACKBOARD PERFORMANCE? To date, no clear resolution has been identified, but a specific number of possible causes have been eliminated and the full priority of the Blackboard technical team has been on the case since Wednesday. We will be working throughout the weekend on further analysis and expect a more explicit report on other progress early next week. INCREASED ACCESSIBILITY TO BLACKBOARD Beginning Sunday, January 30, Blackboard will be accessible via the Blackboard link on the temporary log-in screen at http://my.calpoly.edu, even when the Cal Poly Portal is not available. The recent upgrade of the Blackboard system made this change in access possible. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP? Please continue to email mailto:eblackboardsupport@calpoly.edu to report major performance delays. Please include the type of computer and browser, your location (home, office, lab), and how long it took to access a page in Blackboard. This information has been very helpful in pinpointing performance issues, and we appreciate your taking the time to keep us posted. We regret any inconvenience this problem may have caused.
